| Ravens Visit The Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary |

By Stuart Camps, zoo director
Wandering about the Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary these last few days, often on foot, is a beautiful black raven (a member of the crow family).
It's an unusual sign, a big black bird, relaxedly walking about the Sanctuary, minding his own business, allowing close approach by people but no physical contact, simply being here, unafraid. Maybe he'll be here for a while, or maybe he'll be gone tomorrow.
We've asked the Sanctuary residents and retreatants, when they meet this bird, to keep a respectful distance, and to give the raven its space and freedom to be here.
He has found sanctuary here. I think he knows it. And I think he likes it. The raven seems healthy, though quite tired, perhaps elderly.
Interestingly, last week we took in another raven with a broken wing. We're nursing him back to health. Its unlikely he'll fly again.
Adi Da Samraj (founder of Fear-No-More Zoo) loves crows and ravens. The raven is considered to be, hands-down, the most intelligent of all birds.
Throughout all traditions many qualities have been attributed to ravens and crows, each tradition viewing them in particular ways, both exoterically and esoterically. Adi Da's Instruction does not discount most of those views but it goes further, as shown in this Talk excerpt. |

| Supporting The Sacred in Everything |
| January 29, 2006 by Stuart |
|
A truly human culture has the obligation to produce profoundly heart-awakening art. It is also obligated to live in harmony with other human cultures. And it has the further obligation to live harmoniously, respectfully and sacredly with ALL the non-human cultures, including the earth itself.
In the world today there is one thing that is more endangered and threatened than any other.
Although it can never be extinguished or destroyed, it can be forgotten, abandoned and apparently lost.
Life can be lived as if it does not exist.
The sacredly lived human culture is among the most endangered and rare things on the Earth at this time.
Truly human and profoundly enlightened men and women are more rare than the rarest non-human.
For humanity, and for the sakes of all others, this must somehow change.
Truly human culture must be re-established, world-wide, such that it is never lost again.
The non-humans, including trees, rivers, oceans and the Earth itself, dwell naturally in the state of Divine Communion.
They embrace the necessity, and pleasure, of spiritual contemplation.
It is rare to find real human support for nurturing and preserving the sacred contemplative life of both humans and non-humans, equally.
Fear-No-More Zoo and Gardens is based upon the felt need for acknowledging and supporting the spiritually contemplative life of all living beings.
Our mission is to support the authentic spiritual life of all things, and to serve the integration, or re-integration, of humans and non-humans, as equals at heart.
Adi Da Samraj: Quote : At heart, all are One. At heart, a human being is not the slightest bit different from the reptiles, the birds, the former dinosaurs, the elephants, the plants, the trees, the wind, the sky, the microbes. Apart from their function in conditionality, all beings are the same.
The living process of "Fear-No-More" supports Divine contemplation in the world; supports it in the animals, in natural places, in the earth, the wind, and in human beings.
Inspired by Avatar Adi Da Samraj, Fear-No-More Zoo
is a tangible expression of the fullness of Adi Da's
Spiritual Work with humans and non-humans.
Adi Da Samraj asks everyone who visits the animals and gardens of Fear-No-More Zoo to do so with sensitivity and respect, being aware of the non-humans' contemplative disposition; and by right association be guided into the natural state of Divine Communion also.
Adi Da Samraj: Quote : Go to Fear-No-More Zoo as a Sacred Place. Feel what its particular components are. The more I get to do what I intend there, the more you will observe it. But even as it is, as simple as it is, it immediately awakens a certain congenial disposition in you, if you go down there sensitively of course, and free to do so.
It's another place of Puja (Worship), a kind of walking, petting Puja. It awakens compassion for all living beings, and a feeling of non-difference, of Unity. I spend a lot of time around non-human guys. To Me they're the same as human beings, in the Ultimate sense the same...
It's about 'fearing no more', about going beyond the knot of separate self, being in the condition of the Samadhi of God-Communion, and, at the level of form, feeling structured, and a Great Unity.

I found your website when I was searching for job profiles of careers related to animals. I love what I've read about Fear-No-More Zoo. It's incredible. I've always felt animals were treated unfairly as subordinates, but I felt that one person could do nothing about it. Apparently I was wrong.

Your site is fascinating =)

I was just reading about the camels' relocation and new home and the new lories... Thank you so much! Fear No More Zoo is a BEAUTIFUL THING! and watching the work it has taken over many years to come to this level of manifestation of Adi Da's Vision for Fear No More has moved my heart.
